Support the Holly Hill Residents and Families We Serve This Holiday Season
Thursday, October 18, 2018
October isn’t just about falling leaves and pumpkin spice everything. October is the time of year we start thinking and preparing for the upcoming holidays. If you are receiving this letter, it means that you play a critical role in providing gifts for the children and families in our care. We couldn’t do it without you!
The families we serve are low-income and often need help being Santa for their kids. We also have adolescent girls that spend the holidays at Holly Hill away from their families. With your help, we can give them a Christmas to remember. Most of the girls tell us it’s the best or first Christmas they’ve ever had. Can you imagine a child not being able to experience the joy and wonder of the season? We are thankful that won’t happen to our children because of the outpouring of support we receive from people like you.
In an effort to make this ambitious project a little easier, we have listed giving opportunities on the back of this letter. Please note that some of the options have changed since last year to increase our impact in the community. We have also included a calendar to make sure we receive everything in a timely manner so we can distribute it where it’s needed and use monetary donations to fill in the gaps.
Because there is so much planning and coordination required, we ask that you contact us as soon as possible to tell us how you’d like to help this year. Feel free to call me at 859-635-0500 or email at email@example.com . Thank you again for your continued help with this yearly event. We know its continued success is because of your spirit of giving back to the community. Your participation in our celebration is what makes it possible for us to bring joy to the lives of the children we serve.
Areas where we need your help:
Adopt-a-Family - You will be given a wish list for a family and would provide items from those lists to the family. These gifts will be delivered to the parents/guardians so they can be Santa. These are families that assistance in providing a nice holiday to their children. Some lists may include needed household items like towels or laundry detergent in addition to gifts. Gifts cannot be wrapped, but you are encouraged to give gift bags/wrapping paper so that the family can wrap the gifts.
Resident Gifts - You can choose how many gifts you would like to provide to the adolescent girls that are participating in our Residential Treatment Program. Each girl has a wish list. We generally have about 22 girls at the home at any given time, so you can buy a gift for a few girls, or all 22. Gifts must be unwrapped.
Duffle Bags – We are in need of duffle bags, any size, for the girls participating in our Residential Treatment program. When a girl is discharged from our facility she leaves with her belongings in a box or garbage bag. Having something personal to call her own would be very helpful and truly mean something.
Gift Wrappers - We need people that like to organize, wrap, and label gifts. We could also use donations of wrapping paper, tissue paper, and tape.
Monetary Donation - You can give a monetary donation to the holiday project and we will use your donation to purchase a gift for a child where it’s needed the most.
Thank you for your support!!!
